Achievement 11
Cadet First Lieutenant - C/1st Lt
Ormond Beach Composite Squadron local procedures to promote:
Promotions are earned by demonstrating competence in multiple areas, including leadership, Aerospace Education (AE), and drill and ceremonies. This process is designed to ensure that you’re mastering important skills before moving forward. It is critical that you follow the proper sequence:
-
Physical Fitness Test: Complete and pass your physical fitness test if required for your rank.
-
Online Training: Ensure all online components are finished before proceeding.
-
Drill Test or Milestone Exam: After completing the first two steps, submit a request for a drill test or Milestone exam.
-
Feedback Session: Once your drill test is passed, request a feedback session or Board of Review(BOR). During the BOR, your cadet leadership will ask you about your knowledge of CAP, your participation in physical fitness, and your involvement in CAP activities. The leadership will determine whether you are ready for promotion or if a delay is necessary. A promotion may be delayed by 30 to 60 days based on specific areas that need improvement.
-
Promotion Request: Once cadet leadership approves your promotion during your feedback session, you submit for a promotion request on the OBCS website, this will notify the adult members to schedule time to complete the BOR and then process your promotion in CAP eServices.
Submit a request form for Drill, PT, SDA, and then request Board of Review for Promotion at our unit WEBSITE. Every request form in our unit will include instructions to check your Cadet Promotion Track Report before submitting any requests. When you submit a request form, you will need to validate the completion of prerequisites. This will ensure that you have met all necessary requirements. To check the status of your upcoming promotion:
- Log into eServices.
- Navigate to: Menu → Cadet Programs → Cadet Promotion Track Report.
There are 2 months (56 days) between promotions, and this time should be used effectively. Set your goal, create a timeline, and organize your tasks. We understand balancing school, CAP, and other activities can be challenging.
You will be asked to recite the Cadet Oath and Core Values at your promotion
